Privacy Policy

Article 1 — Purpose of Processing

CoffeeByMe (hereinafter "Service") processes personal information for the following purposes. Personal information is not used for purposes other than those stated below, and if the purpose changes, we will take necessary measures such as obtaining separate consent in accordance with applicable law.

  • Providing personalized coffee recommendation services
  • User preference analysis and recommendation algorithm improvement
  • Service usage statistics analysis
  • Account creation and management (when using social login)
  • Recipe creation and saving service (when using social login)

Article 2 — Information We Collect

The Service collects the following information:

1. Automatically Collected

  • Session ID (auto-generated unique identifier)
  • Data stored in browser local storage

2. User-Provided

  • Coffee experience level (beginner, enthusiast, etc.)
  • Coffee product type preference (beans, capsules)
  • Taste preferences (acidity, nuttiness, etc.)
  • Preferred flavors (fruit, chocolate, etc.)
  • Roast level preference
  • Caffeine preference
  • Mood and situation (when using quick recommendations)

3. Social Login Information (Optional)

When you sign in via Google, Naver, or GitHub, we receive the following information from that provider:

  • Email address (provided by the social account)
  • Nickname
  • Profile image URL (provided by the social account)
  • Social login provider (whichever of Google, Naver, or GitHub you choose)

4. User-Generated Content (when using social login)

  • Recipes you create
  • Saved recipe collections

If you do not use social login, the Service does not collect personal identification information such as email address, name, or phone number.

Article 3 — Retention Period

  • Session ID & Taste Profile: Retained until the user deletes browser data or stops using the Service.
  • Social Login Account Information (email, nickname, profile image): Deleted immediately upon account deletion.
  • User-Generated Content (recipes, saved collections): Deleted together with the account upon account deletion.
  • Users without an account can delete all locally stored data at any time by clearing cookies and local storage in browser settings.

Article 4 — Third-Party Disclosure

The Service does not share or sell users' personal information to any third parties.

Article 5 — Deletion of Data

Personal information is promptly deleted when it becomes unnecessary. Users can delete their data through the following methods:

  • Social login account and all associated data: Use the "Delete Account" feature in My Page (account settings). This permanently deletes your account information and all recipes you have created. Note: clearing browser cache or local storage alone does not remove server-side account data.
  • Non-account taste profile and session data: Clear cookies and local storage in browser settings.

Article 6 — User Rights

  • Users can view or modify their stored preference data at any time.
  • Logged-in users may update account information (e.g. nickname) and permanently delete their account and all associated content via My Page.
  • Users may disable local storage in browser settings, though this may restrict Service functionality. Social login requires local storage for authentication tokens.

Article 7 — Security Measures

The Service takes the following measures to ensure data security:

  • Access rights management for stored data
  • Secure data transmission via HTTPS
  • Encryption of personal information
  • Regular security program installation and inspection

Article 8 — Cookies & Local Storage

The Service uses browser local storage for the following purposes:

  • Session ID storage and management
  • User taste profile storage
  • Social login authentication token storage
  • Improving service experience

Users may refuse local storage use via browser settings, though social login requires local storage for authentication tokens.

Article 9 — Privacy Officer

The Service designates a privacy officer to oversee data processing and handle complaints or inquiries:

Article 10 — Policy Updates

This Privacy Policy applies from the effective date. If there are additions, deletions, or corrections in accordance with applicable laws, we will notify users at least 7 days before the changes take effect.
